The ECC Italy has been established in 2005 and has two branches: a central one in Rome and a crossborder branch in Bolzano. It has hosted by the consumer associations Adiconsum and CTCU.
THE CENTRE ACTIVITIES:
The Centre spread the national and European information on consumer protection and helps consumers to know their rights.
ASSISTANCE IN A COMPLIANT
The Centre offers individual assistance to consumers with a complaint.
In cooperation with the ECC trader, the ECC acts as the intermediary between the consumer and the trader in order to facilitate the resolution of the complaint.

The Centre helps the consumer, if necessary, to access an ADR body.
ADR bodies are still little known and used by consumers, but they can have great advantages. The ECC provides information and details about the functioning of ADR bodies.
MONITORING AND COOPERATION WITHIN THE NETWORK
Consumer problems are constantly monitored by the ECC-Network with statistics and data, which are useful to policy makers.
