Commerce and Contract

Most of consumer’s complaints fall under this section. Indeed any relationship between consumers and dealers include a contract whether it concerns a purchase of goods and services or engagement of professionals or e-commerce.

You should pay attention to contract’s content and its related obligations as well as to the resulting consumer’s rights.

Remember that any time you sign a contract without reading its terms and conditions carefully or you trust dealer’s oral promises instead of asking for clear and written commitments, you run a lot of risks mainly related to a difficulty in sticking you own rights.

Consumer protection offered by the European and National legislations is wide even if sometimes it is hard to see it fully implemented. Thus, as consumer you can feel sure buying abroad as your rights are well protected and respected in your own country as well as in all Member States. Troubles might be related to a lack of information on your own rights as well as to language’s problems but keep in mind that the European Consumer Centre is at your disposal for all these problems by offering you a free assistance, informative material and a wide range of complaint sample letters.
